Statistics show that nearly sixty percent of Americans are overweight. In July 2007 the U.S. population was estimated at three hundred million euros, which means that at least one thousand eight hundred million Americans are overweight. It seems that the odds are against the average American in terms of healthy weight loss. It’s almost as if there was a conspiracy to keep us fat, prevents us from losing the excess weight once and for all. In fact, one of my recommended products for weight loss, Dr Suzanne Gudakunst, argues that there is a conspiracy.
I am certainly not in a position to know whether there is a conspiracy to keep us overweight, but I know there are many advertisements for junk food that we actively encourage to eat things that are not healthy. The ads are a great success, if the different fast food restaurants, the dispersion of our roads are an indication. There seems to be a lot of money to tempt us with burgers high in saturated fats and the sale of sugary soft drinks cheap.
In addition, many of us buy the wrong types of food at the grocery store. If we insist on buying things like sugary snacks and ready meals should be healthy weight loss is almost impossible. There are almost always healthy options available to us to purchase. We must take note of nutrition information on labels so that we make an informed choice.
It is easy to blame the large companies with huge advertising budgets for our inability to maintain healthy weight loss. But remember that only the advertising and supply of these products because we buy them. Can we really expect to advertise healthier options if not buy them.
So indeed, we must change our way of eating. Yes, mostly, eat fruits, vegetables, lean meats and fish, flavored with fresh herbs and spices, prepared meals and sweets on the occasion was not a big deal.
If you are overweight, I recommend you start replacing their healthy food choices with healthy ones. However, replacement of things gradually. If, by the arguments of reason, which takes five cans of Coke a day, it was reduced to four and replace the fifth of the water. To do this for a while, then reduced to four cokes and two waters. Hold down until you only have a Coca-Cola for a couple of times a week. This same technique works for any of their food choices.
Forget the will. This does not work, especially because it is very possible that they are addicted to some unhealthy foods. You have much more success by increasing gradually weaning itself.
For the same reason, never give up their goal of healthy weight. I heard many stories of people simply because they went out to break your diet once. If you break your diet, just forgive yourself and try again. Do not use it as an excuse to quit.
