			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many of us make New Year&#8217;s resolutions to lose weight and live a healthier life in the coming year. Many of us will begin with an attitude Gung-Ho in January and then fizzle out somewhere along the line, below our goals.</p>
<p>I offer my views on a healthy and progressive to lose 52 pounds in the new year. It is a program that I want to work me.</p>
<p>Lose 52 pounds in one year is equivalent to lose one pound per week. If you look at in this way, it seems pretty simple, right? It seems so simple, in fact, that many of them instead of trying to lose our programs for weight loss two pounds a week to change or to see a weight loss of 52 pounds in a short period &#8230; but does not attempt to do so. You&#8217;ll be sure to fail.</p>
<p>First, it is important to understand that 3,500 calories equal one pound of unwanted weight.</p>
<p>Second, we need to know, it takes 13 calories per pound of body weight on your current to maintain the weight you are. For example: If you weigh 180 pounds, he is 2340 calories per day to maintain weight. If one takes 2340 calories as a starting point and decide that we, at one pound per day, we lose our caloric intake of 3,500 calories change per week or 500 calories per day want. You see how easy it seems now that you know?</p>
<p>It goes on until you reach a plateau and then re-based on your current weight to calculate News. It continues until you reach your goal weight.</p>
<p>Most of us exercise with a change of diet plans. Here you will find an excellent guide to counting calories on the Internet. After a manual can help you like this, a coordinated program of exercises for you. Many of us have an extra hour to exercise every day. Many people do not think that is the protein, which maintains our hunger in check, so opt for at least 12 grams of protein at every meal.</p>
<p>Just a reminder: white foods contain many empty calories. Choose whole grains, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables and lean meat. Keep sugar and fat to a minimum. We are all human and it is time that we tried to have a sweet treat or a piece of pizza and that&#8217;s okay, as long as one to the number of calories in your daily schedule have.</p>

Maybe it&#8217;s a little pill that is supposed to suppress your appetite or a fancy new piece of exercise equipment that people buy into because they are looking for an easy way out. The reason these fads never work is because cheaters never prosper in life, and you simply cannot have a healthy weight loss and keep it off<span id="more-67"></span> for good overnight.</p>
<p>No matter how they masquerade it, the core of any successful healthy weight loss program always comes down to the same philosophy: live a healthy lifestyle. Proper nutrition combined with exercise on a daily basis is the winning combination. And yet, we still manage to screw it up. In an attempt to cut through all the obstacles, here is a list of the most common myths people believe that sabotage their healthy weight loss goals.</p>
<p>Healthy Weight Loss Myth #1: It doesn&#8217;t matter what you eat, as long as you eat less. <br />If all foods were made the same, we would all be living on chocolate chip cookies and root beer floats. Unfortunately, the human body is complex and needs a variety of nutrients to work at its best. When you begin a diet by eating less calories than your body is used to, proper nutrition is a must. This becomes even more important when you add exercise into the mix.</p>
<p>If you want to achieve a healthy weight loss, your body needs to function as well as it possibly can. Taking a soy-based meal replacement shake and daily vitamin in addition to an healthy food choices and fitness regimen is how I not only lose 70 pounds 15 years ago, but I also was able to get off all my asthma medications. The body can perform miracles when you provide it with proper nutrition.</p>
<p>Healthy Weight Loss Myth #2: The less you eat, the better your results.<br />If you are not getting enough calories, your body will use fat as fuel, but it can only do so much of this before serious breakdown happens in your muscles.,so you really need to stay above 1,200 calories. Since your body is complex, it kind of has a body has a mind of its own. If you deprive it of food long enough, it is going to panic and hold on to its emergency fuel supplies (fat) in hopes of riding out the difficult period of starvation.</p>
<p>Healthy Weight Loss Myth #3: High Proteins And Fats Are A Healthy Way To Lose Weight. <br />Reducing your intake of carboydrates can be okay in moderation, but when you eliminate them completely you are cutting off your primary fuel source. Athletes and active people cannot function properly on this sort of a diet. So unless you plan on spending your time lying on the sofa watching tv, this approach won&#8217;t work. Exercise is extremely important and there is never going to be a way around that. Without it you might be able to lose weight but you will not look as healthy.</p>
<p>Healthy Weight Loss Myth #4: Fruits And Vegetables Are Bad <br />This thought process comes from the whole glycemic index (GI) craze. GI proponents say that most fruits and vegetables are low in fiber but high in sugar, so they should be avoided. This is complete nonsense. First of all, eating fresh fruits and vegetables is what man evolved on for millions of years, and people were never fat until recently. Why would these natural foods all of a sudden be bad for you?</p>
<p>Too much of any one food can take it&#8217;s toll on the human body, but you don&#8217;t have to be a certified nutritionist to determine that a handful of grapes is 1,000 times healthier than a handful of potato chips. Fresh produce is loaded with vitamins and minerals, not to mention fiber. Go ahead and try to find an overweight person whose biggest indulgence is a banana. (Not dipped in chocolate, of course!)</p>
<p>Healthy Weight Loss Myth #5: Fat Free And Sugar Free Products Are Healthy<br />Any fat free or sugar free version of your favorite junk food is nothing but a sneaky marketing ploy designed to cash in on another diet craze that did not work. Fat free does not mean sugar free and vice-versa. Cotton candy is fat free but people can not lose weight on it. Butter is sugar free but you would not want to eat it by the spoonful as part of a healthy weight loss program. A little common sense is required in order to lead a healthy lifestyle. Never judge a book (food) by it&#8217;s cover (package).</p>
<p>As soon as the next diet craze reveals itself, there will surely be another set of myths to dispel. There is no mystery behind healthy weight loss anymore, no matter how the next so called expert tries to repackage information you already know. For a truly healthy weight loss and maintenance thereafter, focus on creating a daily diet of a soy-based meal replacement shake, smart meal and snack choices that include fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains and lean protein&#8230;and of course, exercise.</p>

Plus any exercise tips?<br />I&#039;m looking to lose weight for the summer, started a bit late I know!</p>
<p>But this is what I ate today, and I just wondered if it is healthy &amp; will aid weight loss? :]</p>
<p>Breakfast &#8211; fat free natural yoghurt, red grapes, blueberries &amp; ground cinnamon<br />
Lunch &#8211; rocket, spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, king prawns<br />
Dinner &#8211; grilled &amp; skinless chicken breast with steamed broccoli, carrots &amp; cauliflower and mashed potato (made without fat/milk), chicken bovril (as gravy!)<br />
Drinks &#8211; 2litres water, 2 cups coffee with skimmed milk (one decaff, one not), cup of peppermint tea </p>
<p>This is only a sample of what I intend to eat, but it will all be along the same lines every day (except Saturday when I will eat out either an Indian or Chinese!!)</p>
<p>I&#039;m also looking for some exercise tips &#8211; I previously joined a gym but  didn&#039;t go, and I find trying to workout at home (I have an exercise bike, DVDs, step aerobics, etc) too easy to avoid. I&#039;m thinking of joining a different gym that&#039;s closer to home and has a swimming pool as well. </p>
<p>What is the best way to start exercising without over doing it or getting bored? Like a way to ease myself into it so that I can learn to love it but which will also maximise weight loss/toning?</p>
<p>I&#039;m 5ft10, broadly built, size UK18, currently about 220lbs, and looking to lose 30lbs as a starting point.</p>

I&#039;m in high school and my confidence is really suffering as a result of being overweight. I have hyperextension in my feet and ankles, which basically translates to really bad balance. This means bicycling is out of the question. <p>Summer time is over now, so the need to “fit in a bikini” is also over for many of us. But, that doesn’t mean that it is time to ignore your body. Being fat is more than being unsightly or not fitting into your clothes. Being fat means that you are unhealthy. You are making your heart work harder than it should, and your bones and joints are carrying too much weight. If you want to live a longer and happier life, then fast<span id="more-64"></span> healthy weight loss should be your first goal, regardless of the season.</p>
<p>The keys to weight loss are simple. You need to consume fewer calories than you are expending. Most of us consume a few too many calories every day, and over the course of a year, that adds up to extra pounds. If you eat 100 excess calories every day, you will gain a pound by the end of the month, and 12 pounds by the end of the year. That little nibble of a cookie can really add up to poundage over time.</p>
<p>Fast healthy weight loss is easy if you know what you are doing. First of all, try and avoid unnecessary food items. If you don’t have to have butter on your toast or your potato, skip it. If you can go with a sugar substitute in your coffee, do that, too. By making little changes in your diet like these, you will avoid that long-term slide into obesity.</p>
<p>Of course, you never want to lose weight too fast. Fast weight gain is often the result of water loss, or even muscle loss which can be very dangerous. You have to get the proper nutrition during any kind of diet in order for your body to continue functioning in a health manner, but fast healthy weight loss is still possible.</p>

Flesh bearing time :/?<br />I&#039;m looking to lose weight for the summer, started a bit late I know!</p>
<p>But this is what I ate today, and I just wondered if it is healthy &amp; will aid weight loss? :]</p>
<p>Breakfast &#8211; fat free natural yoghurt, red grapes, blueberries &amp; ground cinnamon<br />
Lunch &#8211; rocket, spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, king prawns<br />
Dinner &#8211; grilled &amp; skinless chicken breast with steamed broccoli, carrots &amp; cauliflower and mashed potato (made without fat/milk), chicken bovril (as gravy!)<br />
Drinks &#8211; 2litres water, 2 cups coffee with skimmed milk (one decaff, one not), cup of peppermint tea</p>
<p>This is only a sample of what I intend to eat, but it will all be along the same lines every day (except Saturday when I will eat out either an Indian or Chinese!!)</p>
<p>I&#039;m also looking for some exercise tips &#8211; I previously joined a gym but didn&#039;t go, and I find trying to workout at home (I have an exercise bike, DVDs, step aerobics, etc) too easy to avoid. I&#039;m thinking of joining a different gym that&#039;s closer to home and has a swimming pool as well.</p>
<p>What is the best way to start exercising without over doing it or getting bored? Like a way to ease myself into it so that I can learn to love it but which will also maximise weight loss/toning?</p>
<p>I&#039;m 5ft10, broadly built, size UK18, currently about 220lbs, and looking to lose 30lbs as a starting point.</p>
